REMEMBER THE DEANO

The name Dean Lewis – or simply “Deano” to most, – means more than just cars and meets. For those who knew him, followed him, or were luck enough to be guided by him, Deano was the beating heart of a community that spanned well beyond Essex and into every corner of the UK car scene.

It began for many of us the same way, buying a car and jumping online to ask for tips and guidance. This is when “Poppy” the infamous Focus RS MK2 was born. Lighting up everybody’s social media and taking the car scene by storm, but behind the incredible build was a man whose generosity, warmth and energy drew people in like gravity.

Deano didn’t just modify cars, he moved people. From raiding money to send a family to Disneyland during a difficult time, to traveling to Romania to rescue dogs, to supporting friends with gifts and support in their darkest moments. Deans kindness was endless. He showed us what car culture could be. Inclusive, inspiring and powerfully compassionate.

He bought people together through his legendary Essex Ford Meets at Norton Heath – Including his unforgettable surprise 40th Birthday bash, it wasn’t just the cars that filled the barn, it was the atmosphere, joy, community, love – all rotating from one man.

Dean’s cars evolved with him, from Poppy to Ted’s Taxi (His MK7 Fiesta ST named after his son) to a stunning MK3 Focus RS and finally, a dream come true, his beloved MK1 Escort Bleau. Sadly, Dean never got to take Bleau to the Isle of Wight Takeover, a goal he held close.

But Dean’s legacy is still here, in every modified car, every handshake, every laugh, and his passion was infectious, a true icon who lifted others up, pushed boundaries and made everyone feel part of something bigger.

Dean Lewis was more than just a name on a spec sheet. He was our brother in builds, our huge man, our heart.

He may be gone, but Deano’s spirit will forever drive with us.

The Extreme Scene Journey

In September 2023 Dean decided a new challenge was needed, along with his passion for cars, Extreme Scene was launched.

Gaining lots of attention across social media with his humorous ways, passion for the car scene, and knowing he would deliver a top quality

product, Extreme Scene was well and truly born.

Dean’s passion then took a different journey into building his dream Ford Escort when a silver model come along, shortly after Dean’s eye was caught by another Ford which we now know as “Bleau“. He then sparked the idea of bringing the 2 together, cars and detailing was the perfect mix.

Unfortunately on January 11th 2025, we suddenly lost Dean which was a huge impact to not only the car scene but the future of Extreme Scene which is where his car scene family stepped up to continueDean’spassion and legacy.
